ABOUT US

National CLMA Website

The Clinical Laboratory Management Association is an international organization whose members are responsible for laboratories and clinical services in hospitals, independent laboratories, physician group practices, and laboratory industry settings. As stated on the national CLMA website, our organization is "dedicated to enhancing managerial and leadership skills; promoting efficient, productive, and high-quality operations; and advocating on behalf of quality patient care and the membership."

The Kansas Kansas City Chapter of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association has been an active CLMA chapter for more than 20 years. During that time our chapter has developed into a truly membership focused organization whose goals are to serve the membership with a quality education and support system in this ever changing healthcare environment. Our values clearly represent what our chapter strives to offer to each or our members: Leadership is about building relationships, about unifying a community of colleagues, about believing in the value and worth of each person, about serving and teaching, and when the time comes, about entrusting the next generation with what has been learned. The Kansas City Chapter of CLMA values includes:

Respect:
We will establish an environment where differences are honored, understood and recognized as adding enrichment to our association and ourselves. We will exhibit personal and professional behavior that demonstrates respect for the patients, patient confidentiality, fellow professionals and other workers.

Diversity:
CLMA serves many constituent groups including members, payors, the public, suppliers, health-care managers, and other professional groups. We recognize the importance of all these groups to our organization and we strive to serve them to the best of our abilities in achieving our mission.

Personal Development:
We believe education and learning are keys that open the gateway to discovery and knowledge. We will foster the personal growth of our members so that we can achieve the highest potential for the association and ourselves.

Collaboration:
Collaboration is a critical strategy in health care today. We need to determine the ideal partners and what services are most important. In place of trial and error, each potential opportunity is now evaluated based on established criteria. Potential partners must share the values of the Kansas City Chapter of CLMA.

Teamwork:
We value individual excellence in the pursuit of team goals. The leadership shall promote and engage in a process whereby individual thoughts and actions can be joined together so that we achieve more as a team than as individuals.

Quality:
We will continuously promote, advocate and support high quality clinical services. We will support our membership, the laboratory community and the health-care community in providing accurate, appropriate, efficient, timely and cost effective services.
